[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The aim of this speciality is to learn a method of working based on the analysis and diagnosis of the factors responsible for the deterioration of the different sculptural supports, both organic and inorganic.<\/b><\/p>\n

In each case the most appropriate method is applied, identified as a result of interdisciplinary cooperation between the workshops and the laboratories.<\/p>\n

3rd Year: Inorganic Material<\/h2>\n

The practical workshop for the Conservation and Restoration of Sculpture is equipped to carry out treatment procedures on inorganic material.<\/p>\n

In order to provide students with the morphological knowledge necessary to be able to work with this material, the course study programme begins by using lithoid materials, mainly plaster and terracotta.<\/p>\n

During the second term work will focus on working with all types of stone used in sculpture whilst the third term will concentrate on working with metal.<\/p>\n

The workshop has:<\/p>\n

  • Zoom microscopes<\/li>\n
  • Conductivity meter<\/li>\n
  • Ultraviolet lamp<\/li>\n
  • Infra-red lamp<\/li>\n
  • Pneumatic tools<\/li>\n
  • Cleaning tool with micro motor<\/li>\n
  • Abrasion cleaning equipment<\/li>\n
  • Desalination system<\/li>\n
  • Traspal\u00e9 hydraulic lifting system<\/li>\n
  • Hardware (computer, digital camera, card reader, CD recorder)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”673″ img_link_large=”yes”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]\n

    4th year: Organic Material<\/h2>\n

    The fourth year is entirely dedicated to training the students how to work with original works on organic supports, be it wood, cardboard or marble, with or without polychrome.
